Guests: Biancamaria Frabotta, Carmelo Princiotta
Of all the poems proclaimed or whispered in the course of Dora García’s “Labyrinth of Female Freedom” performance, those by Biancamaria Frabotta are a testimonial at once to the changes that have taken place in our collective history and to a personal life experience that prompts her to move in the tunnels of the body and mind with the freedom of a wayfarer. Accompanied in a critical vein by Carmelo Princiotta, the author will read and review her own work, from the “white noise” of the 1970s to the “new climates” of the present day
Biancamaria Frabotta, a poet, narrator and essayist, was one of the leading players in Italian feminism in the 1970s and taught at Rome’s Sapienza University for a long time. Her poems have been brought together in Tutte le poesie 1971-2017 (2018) and translated into other languages, most recently Por manos mortales (2020). She is currently working on a new edition of the novel Velocità di fuga and on a new book of poems.
Carmelo Princiotta is a scholar of contemporary poetry. He is currently working on a research project into the formation of authorship in poets of the 1970s and ‘80s at Turin University.
