What does it mean for you to inhabit a space during a residency period?
Living somewhere different from our customary work spaces is an exception for us and to date it has always had something to do with those sets where we really have had to live during the production of our films.
How would you define the space of your work and research? What will you investigate on this occasion?
Our work is decidedly set-oriented. our practice and research are totally focused on the creation of the place-event that we call a set. For some time now we've been trying to come to an agreement with its limits and boundaries. We began by taking on board the fact that the creation of an image occurs through the disappearance of a set of which nothing but the memory, the absence and the desire are going to remain at the end of the day.
During our period of residency we expect to test the set and its extensions.

ZAPRUDERfilmmakersgroup is an italian collective founded in 2000 and based in Roncofreddo, Emilia-Romagna. Led by David Zamagni and Nadia Ranocchi (producers, authors and directors), Zapruder relies upon a stable working team formed by co-founder Monaldo Moretti (director of photography), creatives and sound-makers. The group experiments in the film field on the border between figurative, performing and cinematographic arts, headed towards an immersive and polycentric experience.Through a process that never stops questioning language and medium, underlying their practice, they conceive several devices and ways of fruition, as in the case of “ Chamber Cinema”: video-installation projects and multimedia works where cinema and object merge, in reference to the technique of stereoscopic film -or the illusion of three dimensions- as well as to expanded cinema. Exploration in 3D introduces the element of “time sculpture”, that of a vision which shatters the screen and, one-to-one with the viewer, delivers itself as an enigma. Since 2012 they develop installations, environments, video sculptures, filmic happenings and set-performances that incorporate spectatorship into the idea of a living image.
