SAMARA EDITIONS MARKS JENNA SUTELA'S PROTOPLASMIC FLOW
Samara Editions (www.samaraeditions.com,Telegram @samaraeditions) invites artists to imagine ways in which their practice can be transformed into an object triggering a performative experience. A dialogue on the Samara Editions project founded by a curator team comprising Eva Neklayeva, Lisa Gilardino and Marco Cendron who, after the Fionde box, a project by Chiara Bersani, are now producing – in conjunction with the Azienda Speciale Palaexpo and the Mattatoio – their second box with Jenna Sutela, a Finnish artist who works with words, sounds and other living media such as bacteria and mould, using mechanisms of interspecies communication and symbiosis.
The project that Jenna Sutela has devised for and with Samara Editions offers the audience a chance to enter into contact with the Physarum polycephalum, one of her regular collaborators that is considered a natural computer.
Literary critic Sara De Simone will be chatting with Lisa Gilardino, the curator and founder of Samara Editions, about publication and artistic practice.
